Consulting
During his career, John has been responsible for many significant building projects, taking them through all RIBA work stages from initial enquiry to completion. His portfolio of finished projects includes a wide variety of residential, ecclesiastical and educational building types, many of which are in sensitive locations or involve listed buildings. He works at a senior level taking lead design roles with full project team responsibility, and has won several design awards for his work. The practice can provide design leadership, or assist with production contributions within an established architectural team.

Private Commissions
Every building project and client is unique, so our first priority is to listen closely to gain a clear understanding of our client’s needs, aspirations and budget. Architectural services are based on the RIBA standard service schedules, but the scope of work is tailored to specific project requirements.

On historic and complex building projects we will arrange specialist surveys and other detailed investigations to ensure that a comprehensive understanding of the building and site is established early on. Creative design work will then follow, with close client involvement. We present design options in whatever medium is most appropriate, including traditional hand sketches, CAD drawings, and computer models. Consultations with statutory authorities and cost consultants will be arranged at appropriate stages of the design process to ensure that proposals are practically and financially viable. If required, after outline design and preliminary budget estimates have been approved, we will fully develop the design through to construction drawings and specification. Thereafter, we can provide full contract administration and construction inspection services to completion and final accounts.
